ISO 14001 Environmental Certificate is a Key Part of Operations of Galena Pharma

During the spring of 2025, operations of Galena Pharma were re-certified to comply with the ISO 14001 environmental management system. As a result of the certification audit, we are pleased to announce that our operations consider environmental aspects with an excellent manner, and our renewed ISO 14001 certificate is now valid until 2028.

Comprehensive Quality Management System is the Foundation of Our Operations

Galena Pharma’s operations are based on a comprehensive quality management system, which enables us to create value for our customers and other stakeholders, as well as meet the legal requirements set for manufacturers of medicines and medical devices. Our quality management system ensures that all our products are safe and effective throughout entire lifecycle of the products.


Our quality management system is based on internationally recognized standards and industry specific laws and regulations. Quality work guides our daily operations, and internal and external audits are a regular part of our routines.


ISO 14001 is an international environmental management standard that guides companies to improve environmental responsibility and reduce environmental risks. The standard aims to ensure that companies consider environmental issues in their operations and implement practices that reduce environmental impacts and promote sustainable development.

Galena Pharma is Committed to Environmentally Responsible Operations

Compliance with the ISO 14001 standard is a key part of Galena Pharma’s quality management system and environmental sustainability is one of our strategic priorities. Galena Pharma has been ISO 14001 certified since 2022.


The re-certification audit was conducted in February 2025 by Kiwa Sertifiointi Oy. The audit did not reveal any findings or deviations, and we received positive feedback from the audit team regarding the rapid development of our environmental actions. Our updated environmental certificate is now valid until the spring of 2028.

Strategic Environmental Emphasis 

We are very proud to announce that we are an ISO 14001 certified company. Galena Pharma’s strategic goal is to reduce carbon emissions and in relation to this goal, we monitor annually our carbon footprint on a company level by using GHG protocol guidelines. In addition, we can calculate the amount of carbon dioxide emissions per product for the needs of our customers. As part of our continuous improvement, we are preparing our first sustainability report, which will provide a comprehensive overview of our sustainable development actions.
