Katarina Lundh will start in the position on 11.8.2025. She succeeds Atte Kukkonen, who will continue working with Galena Pharma as a member of board.

At Galena Pharma we are pleased to welcome Katarina to join our team as Business Development Director. Katarina, M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, brings extensive industry experience to support Galena Pharma’s international growth journey. She has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare industry in roles among R&D and project management. Most of her career, Katarina has worked at Johnson & Johnson where her latest position was Global R&D Director of Digestive Healthcare. Katarina will report to the CEO and she joins the management team of Galena.

“We are thrilled to welcome Katarina Lundh to our team! Her deep industry knowledge and proven track record make her the ideal person to accelerate our next phase of international growth” says CEO Alexej von Bagh .

ISO 14001 Environmental Certificate is a Key Part of Operations of Galena Pharma

Compliance with the ISO 14001 standard is a key part of Galena Pharma’s quality management system and environmental sustainability is one of our strategic priorities. Galena Pharma has been ISO 14001 certified since 2022.

The re-certification audit was conducted in February 2025 by Kiwa Sertifiointi Oy. The audit did not reveal any findings or deviations, and we received positive feedback from the audit team regarding the rapid development of our environmental actions. Our updated environmental certificate is now valid until the spring of 2028.

During the spring of 2025, operations of Galena Pharma were re-certified to comply with the ISO 14001 environmental management system. As a result of the certification audit, we are pleased to announce that our operations consider environmental aspects with an excellent manner, and our renewed ISO 14001 certificate is now valid until 2028.

Strong industry expertise from medical devices and pharmaceuticals

Sales team of Galena is led by strong experience from the pharmaceutical industry. To achieve bold growth and to provide outstanding customer experience, the sales department is divided into two areas. Joel Sjölund, leads sales activities in Nordic, UK and Benelux regions and the newest member of Galena Pharma, Hrvoje Pervan, takes lead of sales activities in Central European region.

On April 2024 Joel Sjölund joined to the team of Galena as a Sales Director. Joel has over 15 years’ experience of working for international Consumer Product Goods companies including pharmaceutical field. At Galena, Joel’s responsibilities include strategy work, new customer acquisition and working as a manager for the sales team located in Finland. Joel reports directly to the CEO Alexej von Bagh.

We are delighted to announce that in January 2025, Hrvoje Pervan joined Galena Pharma as a Sales Director, Central Europe to establish new partnerships and strengthen our presence in new regions. Hrvoje joins Galena from Croatian pharmaceutical company JGL d.d., where he worked for 14 years and latest as Head of Emerging Markets. Hrvoje reports directly to the CEO Alexej von Bagh.

Sales team supports our customers in the field of medical devices

On a day-to-day basis, the sales team of Galena works ambitiously to make sure that collaboration is smooth with our customers.

Key Account Manager Eero Hiltunen joined Galena team at the beginning of 2024. With years of experience in B2B sales, Eero knows how to help our customers to reach their goals.

In December 2024, Hannamari Sirkko started as a Sales and Marketing specialist at Galena Pharma. Hannamari has an educational background in business as well as in pharmaceuticals with versatile experience in different positions in sales and marketing in the industry.

The core part of the team is Jenna Tamminen , who has been in Galena Pharma since 2016 in various positions. Over the years, Jenna has gained valuable insight on different operations in Galena pharma and today she helps our customers as a Customer Relationship Specialist.

We are delighted to announce that Alexej von Bagh has been appointed as the new CEO of Galena Pharma Oy, effective April 17, 2023. Atte Kukkonen, our current CEO, will continue to lead production and product development in the company and will be a vital part of our management team.

With over 25 years of experience —nationally and internationally— in various operative business positions, from a family-owned business to a listed company and a Private Equity owned company, Alexej brings a wealth of knowledge to Galena and is well-positioned to drive the company’s continued success. “I am excited to accelerate the company’s growth and strengthen Galena’s operating model and culture alongside the team,” confirms Alexej von Bagh.
